South Australia's Best
Portuguese Custard Tart

— Pastel de Nata —
One of Portugal’s most delicious treats!

Our Pastel de Nata is based on a traditional recipe using the best local ingredients to produce a light and smooth custard nestled in crispy layers of puff pastry. Handmade and baked fresh daily at our store in Mitcham Square, South Australia.

Saudade — is a beautiful and untranslatable Portuguese word.

A nostalgic feeling, a longing, a yearning for someone or something that is gone, without ever knowing if it will return.

After tasting the pleasure of our Pastel de Nata, you will understand the feeling of Saudade!

Saudade specialises in one thing and one thing only: pastel de nata. This perfectly scorched Portuguese treat can be inhaled in just three bites – or two if you have a big mouth – so it's advisable to order a few extra. Shatteringly crisp layers of golden puff pastry encase smooth, rich custard that has been blistered, almost burnt, on top. The tarts are baked and sold on the same day, no exceptions. They're the best you can find in Adelaide, and quite possibly the southern hemisphere.

What an incredible treat - the pastry is so crisp and light, and the caramelised custard is first class. Simply the best Portuguese Tarts I've ever tasted!

O. M.G. is all I can say. These are to die for - the pastry is exquisite: light, crunchy, buttery - there is plenty of flaky evidence floating around my drivers seat floor at the moment...!! The custard is creamy, more-ish, just sweet enough, smooth and unctuous.

Saudade provided their amazing portugese tarts for our wedding a fortnight ago. They delivered to the event and were so easy to order with. All of our guests LOVED them and they were the first of our desserts to disappea

This is the second place in Australia that makes and sell amazing Portuguese tarts. Many places claim to sell and make Portuguese tarts but they are not tasty at all but these guys have nailed it. I now only eat Portuguese tarts from Saudade. I have recommended this places to so many people and they all loved it. Do yourself a favour and check out this place, you won't regret it!

I have been 3 times in a week! I am a huge Portuguese Custard Tart fan, and have never had one so amazing! I took 18 to work today, and they were gone in 2 minutes, and a request to pick up 18 more tomorrow!

Dropped by on what I believe was the first day at there new place at Mitcham Square. Had a nata with an espresso just like I have had many times in Lisbon! Brought me right back to the streets of Lisbon! Try it! It is the best!
